Another life saved by concealed carry?

A man went into a store in Flordia, and pulled a gun on the manager. This story happens many times each day in the US and countries around the world. There was one difference this time - the manager pulled his legal carry gun. And so did the assistant manager.

The result? No one died, and the bad guy ran off, firing as he left. He's being charged with attempted murder, among other crimes.

This is an example of why concealed carry works. Victims can stand up for themselves when attacked, and bad guys don't get away with their bad deeds.

Oh, the stupidity

The BBC wrote an article complaining that there are too many guns in America, and we're just too dumb to know that guns are bad.

The first example cited is of DC. Too bad he doesn't mention that guns ARE illegal in DC, just like his native UK, where since guns have been made illegal violence has skyrocketed.

Has the author ever thought that the reason people feel so safe, the reason they don't lock their doors and crime is less than in his home of Britain, is BECAUSE of the guns? Yes, there's an occasional, rare and tragic accident, but by and large, guns in the hands of good guys keep bad guys from doing bad things. That simple.

48 states in the U.S. understand that, and have passed concealed carry laws. Europe can't seem to get the message. When guns are made illegal to the law-abiding, only criminals have them. And is that really a better alternative to the rare accident?

States act to hide carry permit holders names

An article in USA Today about states who do not publish the names of carry license holders. They mention the point, but not enough - the reason these laws are put into effect is because the media abuses the privlidge to access the list.

The guy from the anti-gun group says that the larger concern is keeping felons from getting permits - that's what the license process is for, so they can't get a permit in the first place!

The truth is, anti-gunners like to intimidate people into not getting a carry license. Many newspapers and websites have published license holders names for no other reason, and that's why the lists should be private.

Holy moses - they've added a thumb safety!!

One of our favorite guns has had a flaw - no manual safety. Low and behold, Springfield has added an optional thumb safety to the XD line of semi-autos!!

This lack of a manual safety has turned many who wished to carry the awesome pistol, especially if carried with a clip or retention device that doesn't cover the trigger guard.

I know what I'm buying as soon as I can get my hands on it...

Gun free utopia of Chicago

Gang wars are breaking out... too bad the average, law-abiding citizen is left helpless in "gun-free" Chicago.

Such a shame to see this happen. As a gun owner, it is your responsibility to make sure your guns are INACCESSIBLE to any unauthorized people or children.
