Had lot of requests for options to lock up handguns lately. Here's a nice safe at Costco that offers fingerprint access, for $230.

Violent relationship ends in death

We have dozens of students who come in every year to learn self defense, just in case a relationship gone bad comes back to haunt them. It happens. If you're in such a situation, best to be prepared.

A woman was recently shot in the stomach at the Wal-Mart in Moraine. We are constantly told that we need to cooperate with robbers, but the end result of this woman complying was being shot in the stomach.

A good article you might want to consider posting...compliance has never been safe and we must take our defense into our hands.

NRA fights to keep CHL fee in Ohio from increasing

Looks like it was being pushed to $80, but the NRA stepped in when the numbers didn't add up, and it'll stay at $55, for now.

Be it a natural disaster like Katrina, riots like in LA, or even a nasty snow storm. The police can't always be there to help you.

If you don't like it, tax it

One thing to watch out with this new gov't-- the tendency to tax as a disincentive. It's been tried before with guns and ammo, let's hope they don't try it again.

An example is how NY is taxing things like non-diet soda to discourage their use. And adding 88 other fees/taxes to the mix... Jeez...

Student calls 911, dies from attack

You're told by many anti-gunners that the police will save you, should you be attacked. In this case, the 48 minutes it took for the police to arrive wasn't fast enough.

Self-protection is important. You can't count on the police to save you, and hope you don't live in a place, like a college campus, where guns are forbidden.

Right to carry in National Parks to be restored

From the NRA today:

The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), through the National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, has announced the final amended version of its changes to rules on carrying of firearms in national parks and wildlife refuges. DOI's move will restore the rights of law-abiding gun owners who wish to transport and carry firearms for lawful purposes on most DOI lands, and will make federal law consistent with the state law in which these public lands are located. NRA led the effort to amend the existing policy regarding the carrying and transportation of firearms on these federal lands.
